The Rim Commonality Guards were established as the Rim Commonality's military after the Free Worlds League dissolved in 3079, formed by former Marik Militia and mercenary commands who wanted a steady paycheck. Initially satisfied with just claiming their pay and settling for mediocre service, once the Rim Commonality began being raided by Regulan and Marian forces they were inspired to improve their skills. Eventually this allowed the Rim Commonality to expand its borders as nearby independent systems agreed to form defense pacts. After the Free Worlds League re-formed in 3139, the Rim Commonality Guards received support from the federal government which allowed them to secure their gains.[1]
During the latter half of the 3140s and 3151 various Guards regiments participated in operations against Regulus, the Marians and the Magistracy of Canopus.[2] [3] [4] [5]
