By 3028 Sterope had become one of major weapons manufactures outside the Hydes Cluster. Its industry vital cog in Taurian defense industry. However, the planet was not assigned by major frontline BattleMech force. The planetary nobility used their own funds to raise its own regiment of troops, which was given name of Noble's Regiments. These paramilitary forces, man series of large static defense fortifications which were situated around various and population complexes on the planet. Each of these battalion of infantry were at the command of regional nobility who funded them. Using strategy holding out against powerful enemy until reinforcements can arrive.[3]
