It never ceases to amaze me how anyone can keep a straight face in regards to the 4th SW. You only need to look at the TO & E of both sides to see the sheer ridiculousness of the situation. And yet the FS tries so very hard to make it look like a great victory. HA!!! ---Aldous

It's not so much the victory as the scope of the victory. The FS crushed the Capellans with minimal losses on their own side. They conquered half the Confederation while losing only a handful of worlds to the Combine. Even in 3067, with all the reversals the Suns had suffered, the nation was still larger than it had been in 3025. That shows the magnitude of the conquest. --Scaletail 15:19, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
Remember the Liao military was actually pretty good at the time. Yes, it was smaller (40 regiments), but it had a fraction of the worlds to guard. There are reasons why things like that don't happen more often. ClanWolverine101

The NAIS Atlas is the obvious first place to go. 2 observations :

1) If Takashi Kurita hadn't been obsessed with Wolf's Dragoons, he could have taken half the Draconis March, including Robinson. That would have been a political and military nightmare for the new AFFC. 2) Steiner was attacking Kurita. Liao was just trying to survive. The FWL could have done ANYTHING it wanted. It wound up LOSING worlds to the Tikonov Republic (!!!!) and eventually the FC. This included Oliver, with a mech factory. That's insane. ClanWolverine101
