Speculation

The following was included in the article and has been moved to this discussion page. If there is doubt about a typo, please go to the "Ask the Writers" section of the forum and ask. Speculation is not verifiable. --Scaletail (talk) 17:37, 27 March 2013 (PDT)

Sak To is probably Emerald of the Black Dragons. While sources names a Tai-sa 'Tok Do' as Emerald[1], the fact the Tok Do is a planetary name, the fact the rank is the same, the fact that the names are similar, and the fact that both Emerald[2] and the Second Sword of Light[3] are mentioned to have started the rebellion makes it likely that Tok Do is a printing error.

EDIT: Li Tok Do (Tai-shu of the Galedon Military District and "Emerald" in the Council of Gems)[4] and Li Sak To (Tai-sa in the 2nd Sword of Light)[5] are indeed two different people.

If I may, speculation can be okay as long as its presented as speculation and has verifiable points. For example: Devlin Stone = Arthur Steiner-Davion. Not saying people shouldn't try Ask the Writers, but the writers don't always answer. ClanWolverine101 (talk) 21:25, 27 March 2013 (PDT)
I understand what you're saying, but there's no reason for it to be disputed on the article. Let's discuss it here and replace the information when we have consensus. --Scaletail (talk) 16:43, 28 March 2013 (PDT)
Now that I've had a chance to review the sources, I don't think the sources point clearly to Sak To as Emerald. 1) The "Council of Gems" always refers to each other by their gem names, but the conversation on DotJ p. 68 specifically references the Tai-sa of the Second Sword, then refers to Emerald as Emerald. Moreover, the conversation is about Emerald, and the Gems state that Sak To helped, which means that he can't be Emerald. 2) As the anonymous editor pointed out, FM:U lists Li Tok Do as the Tai-shu of Galedon Military District, so he clearly is a character, though there is a planet called Tok Do. 3) JS:TBD p. 43 identifies Tok Do as Emerald, though it lists his rank as Tai-sa. This could be a typo or he might have been demoted by 3075. 4) I would feel relatively confident in saying that Li Dok To is, in fact, Emerald. Based upon the sources listed in this article, I can't make the case for Sak To as Emerald. --Scaletail (talk) 17:17, 28 March 2013 (PDT)
Fair. If whomever put it up has additional material, that would help. Ideally, there'd be some reference making it an in-universe rumor. But I got nothing. I agree it should be removed for the time being. ClanWolverine101 (talk) 17:27, 28 March 2013 (PDT)
