Leftenant General Caruthers, commanding the New Syrtis Capellan March Militia, was stationed on New Syrtis in 3050.[2] By 3062, now-Major General Caruthers continued to command the New Syrtis CMM on New Syrtis. Caruthers was at this point a twenty-four-year veteran of the Armed Forces of the Federated Commonwealth and a dedicated supporter of House Hasek. Since taking command of the New Syrtis militia in 3048, Caruthers turned down numerous promotions in order to remain on New Syrtis.
