The Two Hundred Eighty-seventh Heavy Assault Regiment was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army.

A former unit of the SLDF who did not follow Alexandr Kerensky on his Exodus in 2784 and remained behind in the Inner Sphere to work as mercenaries. In the face of a massive Kurita surprise assault all along the border to the Federated Suns in 2787, which resulted in chaotic and conflicting orders being issued to the defenders, the 23rd Heavy Assault Regiment (working for House Davion at the time) pulled back from Marduk, creating a gap in the front.^[1]..
