Description
The Umbra is an accumulation of items arising something useful. The origins of the machine lie in the development program for the unmanned fighter of the Word of Blake. Since the priorities have changed, the technician created a fighter for the reserve. The Coalitions forces of Devil Stone had conquered Terra before the project was finished.[1] The engineers searched the former production sites for useful technologies and discover that the WoB had built several Umbras. The fighters were close to operational but the work wasn't finished. The available information give the technicans an imagination of the capabilities of the design.[1] The armed forces of the newly formed Republic of the Sphere recognized the strengths of the design. The RAF had luck because the Word of Blake had not enough time to destroy their research successfully. After a few short years the production of the design started on Terra.[1]
Armament
Initially the design was created to be a clone of the successful Shade - Omnifighter. The circumstances forced the WoB that the Ummbra is build as an dogfighter. The Word of Blake chose the combination of the snub-nosed PPC with the wing mounted ER Medium Lasers to accomplish that goal. The 240 XL engine provide the machine with enough thrust for fighter interception or also for ground support.[1]
Variants
No known variants are built.[1]
