Major General Wilbur Braso was an officer in the Star League Defense Force during the Amaris Coup and one of the leaders of the Prinz Eugen Mutiny.[1][2]

History[edit]

Major General Wilbur Braso, a distant relation to the House Cameron, would fight to help free the Terran Hegemony from Stefan Amaris's rule during the Amaris Civil War. After the war, he would follow Aleksandr Kerensky on his Exodus, but had private misgivings about the entire affair. He mainly participated in the operation because he felt he owed it to see the men and women under his command through it after everything they had suffered. He hoped that Kerensky had some system close to the Inner Sphere picked out as he could "see this ending badly."[2]

As morale dropped in the Exodus fleet as the crew and passengers spent months in space traveling to an unknown destination, Wilbur Braso would find himself allying with Admiral Votok, commander of the Texas-class Prinz Eugen. Together they would start planning a revolt which led to the Prinz Eugen Mutiny in August 2785. Nine ships, including the Prinz Eugen, mutinied from the Exodus Fleet and declared their intention to return to the Inner Sphere.[3]

Aleksandr Kerensky acted quickly and aggressively to crush the mutiny. Admiral Votok was killed during the boarding action of the Prinz Eugen, Braso was taking alive after he surrendered. He was summarily tried for treason and executed for his actions.[1][3]
