Unit Description

The XVI Corps (or Sixteenth Corps) was a corps of the Star League Defense Force. Prior to the collapse of the Star League it consisted of 6 divisions and 2 independent regiments.[1]

History

In 2764 the Sixteenth was part of the Second Army, assigned to the Federated Suns Military Region. However, in 2765 an uprising occurred in the Periphery, requiring the corps's redeployment to the Third District to fill in gaps left by the Third Army. However, the uprising had been secretly orchestrated by Stefan Amaris to accomplish his takeover of the Terran Hegemony.

The Sixteenth would take part in Aleksandr Kerensky's campaign to retake the Terran Hegemony from Amaris, but was nearly wiped out in the effort. Only a single division was left standing in 2784.
