Major Albright Kelly was the commander of Second Battalion (Kelly's Support Battalion) of the Waco Rangers as of 3025.[1]
History[edit]
Kelly was an officer in the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces before 3015 but he resigned his commission for reasons he preferred not discuss. It was rumored he had killed his commanding officer in a 'Mech duel over accusations of infidelity leveled at a Steiner noblewoman.
Following his resignation he joined the Waco Rangers, where he was welcomed by Colonel Wayne Waco and immediately given command of the Support Battalion in light of his experience and leadership qualities.
Hyperion[edit]
In 3024, Kelly led his battalion as part of an assault on the Draconis Combine world of Hyperion in search of units from the Wolf's Dragoons while under Lyran Commonwealth contract. While in the capital city of Ahsiz, however, the Rangers were attacked by a larger force of two Dragoons regiments and forced to retreat off-world.
The losses' of Kelly's Support Battalion during this battle was significant and had not been replaced by 3025.[2]
BattleMech[edit]
Albright Kelly piloted a Hunchback BattleMech named Backstabber.[1] This 'Mech had numerous dents and scars, reflecting Kelly's preference for close-in fighting, where he liked to say "you can see the whites of their battle lanterns."[3]
