Colonel Ari Lowenstein was the commander of the Milligan Draconis March Militia, with the Federated Suns, from at least 3139 to 3145.[1][2]

Lowenstein and the Milligan DMM participated in the failed defense of Wapakoneta against the Draconis Combine employed Wolf's Dragoons. On 13 April 3139, while attempting to hold the town of Bakir with his First Battalion against the Dragoons' Tarantulas Battalion, Lowenstein was ordered by General Robert McShane to withdraw from the world. Following this retreat, Lowenstein and the Milligan DMM fell back with other Davion forces to Glenmora, where they planned to recover from their losses.[2]
Lowenstein, with the Milligan DMM, was based on Milligan as of 3145.[1] At this time, he was frustrated at his inability to stop the Draconis Combine and Raven Alliance from taking large part of the Milligan Polymorphous Defense Zone, including due to a lack of support from the rest of the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns. As a result, the Milligan DMM were planning to dig in to hold Milligan at all costs, even if High Command were to order them to instead go elsewhere.[3]
