Della Milner was the aide to the commanding officer of the Sixth Lyran Guards' BattleMech Regiment as of 3062.[1]

Leutnant-Colonel Milner, serving with the Sixth Lyran Guards under Colonel Nash Boulton, was stationed on Rasalgethi in 3062.[1] When the Federated Commonwealth Civil War broke out at the end of that year, Milner was chiefly responsible for organizing the Sixth Lyran's reaction to the surprise attack launched against it by the Victor Steiner-Davion-aligned Seventeenth Donegal Guards. With Leutnant-General Seth Alpert trapped in his headquarters building, the defense organized by Milner from the cockpit of her BattleMech was one of the primary reasons that the Sixth Lyran Guards survived their first few days of the war. Unfortunately, even utilizing the repair and logistics facilities available in the parts of the Sixth Lyran's base that she had managed to hold, Milner's counterattack failed to recapture the massive military compound before the Seventeenth Donegal laid waste to anything of strategic value, condemning the Sixth Lyran Guards to eventual defeat.[2]
