Description[edit]
The appropriately named FedCom Civil War details the largest conflict to engulf the Inner Sphere in over a decade: the Federated Commonwealth Civil War. The book begins with a short story, an introduction, and then a historical synopsis that traces the history of the Federated Commonwealth; from its beginnings in the FedCom Accords signed by Katrina Steiner and Hanse Davion, to the secession of the Lyran Alliance by Katherine Steiner-Davion, up to the outbreak of war in December 3062.
The meat of the book is in its descriptions of the battles that involved line units. It breaks the conflict up into chronological "waves", though the invasion by Clan Jade Falcon is set off by itself. It then follows the battles for each world during the war, including those that were in the Draconis Combine and Jade Falcon Occupation Zone. The source information ends with tables detailing each line unit's move throughout each wave and an atlas that provides planetary data for some of the worlds involved in the conflict. Finally, FedCom Civil War provides limited rules structure for those who wish to run games during this period.

Notes[edit]
- It was the second print sourcebook released by FanPro.
- The cover art concept was suggested by Brian Huss, winner of the FedCom Civil War Cover Contest. It portraits the fight between Zeus "Ripper" of the Fifth Donegal Guards and Victor "Slasher" of the Second Davion Guards RCT during the final battle of the FedCom Civil War on New Avalon in 3067. In the background is the Avalon City palace. In the foreground are two infantry troopers both bearing the name tape "Huss" indicating a familial relationship.
- The artwork on p. 9 depicts a scene from the wedding of First Prince Hanse Davion and Archon-Designate Melissa Steiner on Terra on 20 August 3028. The man seated at the table giving a toast to the newlywed couple is Justin Allard. The woman to Allard's right is Candace Liao and to her right, the angry man gathering up his dishes and shouting at Davion is Maximilian Liao. Behind them are three robed members of ComStar.
