Tai-i Diego Hamlin was an Armor Commander with the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery's 301st Armor, Fifth Sword of Light, as of 3144.[1]

Following the 301st Armor's loss of over a Battalion to Federated Suns artillery during the Palmyra Disaster in 3144, Hamlin was tasked by Tai-sa Rikuto Himura to lead a platoon of Bulldog medium tanks to destroy the offending artillery unit, after their location was spotted by DCMS VTOLs.
The artillery battery managed to escape, its fight covered by a defending Davion Demolisher heavy tank, though Hamlin did receive a commendation for destroying the Demolisher at the cost losing two tanks under his command.[1]
Vehicle[edit]
Hamlin was known to a pilot a Bulldog medium tank, named Spot, which was an ancestorial possession of the Hamlin family. The tank, which was considered lucky and served as the mascot of the 301st Armor, had over 250 engagements to its name as of 3144.
Reputed to have never been seriously damaged in combat, the longest it was believed to have been in a repair bay was during 3126, when it was upgraded to then modern standards. The replaced parts, including the engine and Large Laser, were however still considered lucky and were auctioned off to other DCMS units. The proceeds of the auction earned the Hamlin family ten times the cost of the upgrade itself.[1]
