Diplass Technologies was a manufacturer based in the Rim Worlds Republic.

Overview[edit]

The primary Diplass Technologies facility was located on Apollo, and produced the Hipparch Cavalry Tank. The Hipparch production line was destroyed in 2599 during the Wbika coup shortly after the Reunification War.[1]

Diplass Technologies—also referred to as Diplass BattleMechs (DB)—passed completely into the ownership of House Amaris after the end of the Reunification War and the fall of the Rim Provisional Government. House Amaris initiated a period of extensive renovation and a number of expansions to Diplass, and by the closing years of the Star League era Diplass was the single largest BattleMech manufacturer in the Republic.[2]

While the main Diplass production lines remained on Apollo throughout the Star League era, additional DB sites were established on various worlds including Anywhere, Erdvynn, Inner Surge, Timbuktu and Winter. As far as the Star League Defense Force was aware, these satellite facilities consistently produced a relatively modest annual output, the majority of which was subsequently exported to the Lyran Commonwealth, and the various factories outside Apollo commonly served more as refit centers and parts suppliers than as production facilities. Production at the various DB sites was known to have ramped up in later years, but the withdrawal of the Twentieth Army from Republic space in 2755 left Star League intelligence agencies unable to closely monitor the performance of industrial manufacturers like DB within Republic space.[2]

Between 2722 and 2765 the Rim Worlds Army underwent a massive expansion, and a large part of the BattleMech strength of the RWA came from DB production lines, but the information on the various DB facilities that the SLDF had available indicated that even under the most optimistic conditions the known DB facilities couldn't account for the level of production required, suggesting that either DB or other manufacturers within the Republic had activated additional production sites unknown to the SLDF.[2]

Diplass facilities would take notable damage during the Star League Defense Force's invasion of Rim Worlds Republic during the Amaris Civil War, with the Timbuktu-based Diplass BattleMechs being destroyed entirely.[3]
