Description[edit]
Five years after the Helm Memory Core was decoded by the New Avalon Institute of Science on New Avalon, Iroquois Machinery Limited of Shawnee utilized the technology breakthrough to develop a new design of harvesting machine. The Harvester is based on Star League prototype schematics of a new compact IndustrialMech, and this new Iroquois machine proved three times faster than conventional harvesting machines. It enjoyed widespread use among the Federated Suns' food producing worlds within 10 years of its introduction.[4][5] Years later, in the 3120s, the design was licensed out to Achernar IndustrialMechs and DiNapoli Industries, surviving in a new form.[6]
The Harvester is noted for its good armor protection and its high-maintenance engine.
During the Liao Insurgency, the Ijori Dè Guāng used Harvesters and other IndustrialMechs to fight the Republic of the Sphere military.[7]
Weapons and Equipment[edit]
The 'Mech is equipped with a 15 ton capacity lift hoist on its right arm, which allows it to handle heavy loads. The hoist is then able to load its cargo onto trailing cargo trucks. A combine takes the place of its left hand actuator. In the center torso, the 'Mech has a half-ton capacity cargo hold.[4]
Variants[edit]
- HVR-199
- An expanded 40-ton version from Achernar IndustrialMechs, this variant, built to compete with newer models such as the Demeter, carries a more efficient engine and two tons of cargo space. It is heavily armored, enabling use in hazardous locations. BV (2.0) = ?[6][8]
- HVR-199M MOD
- An early field modification, this variant of the HVR-199 replaces the lift hoist with an AC/5 and adds one heat sink. An advanced fire control is added to better utilize the new weapon. BV (2.0) = 406[6][9]
- HVR-199M-A MOD
- This official militarized variant from Achernar IndustrialMechs fits a smaller engine, providing a top speed of only 54 km/h. In addition one ton of armor was peeled off the chassis, which freed enough weight and space to fit an RAC/5 and ton of ammunition in the right arm. The left hand combine was kept. BV (2.0) = 605[6]
- HVR-199M-B MOD
- Originating from DiNapoli Industries, this variant of the HVR-199 fits a smaller engine, providing a top speed of only 54 km/h. In addition one ton of armor was peeled off the chassis, which freed enough weight and space to fit an RAC/2 and one ton of ammunition in the right arm. The left hand combine was kept, but only after adding additional armor to it. BV (2.0) = 462[6]
- HVR-199M-M MOD
- Built on the HVR-199M, this variant replaces the cargo space with four vehicular mine dispensers. BV (2.0) = 438[6][10]

Notes[edit]
- The HVR-199 series of Harvesters was originally introduced by WizKids in the MechWarrior: Dark Age Collectable Miniatures Game under the generic name AgroMech. The 199 series was initially 35 tons,[12] and early record sheets were published in Record Sheets: MechWarrior Dark Age I. The publication of Technical Readout: Irregulars renamed the AgroMech and gave it its current tonnage.
