MechWarrior E.M. Catanese was a member of a Reinforced Strike Lance, 14th Recon Company, 17th Recon Battalion, 71st Light Horse Regiment of the Eridani Light Horse as of 3058.[1]

Catanese fought in the Battle of Coventry against Clan Jade Falcon as part of the Coventry Expeditionary Force (CEF). On 9 May 3058, Catanese helped to defend the town of Lietnerton on Coventry, against elements of the 305th Assault Cluster.[1]
Catanese's Mech was destroyed during this engagement during a strafing run by Star Captain Janice Folkner in her Sulla light omnifighter, but miraculously Catanese survived with only a rip in the shoulder of his cooling vest.[2]

Catanese was known to pilot a GLT-5M Guillotine BattleMech.[1]
