Elijah Wallace Mitrovich was the commanding officer of the Fourth Davion Guards as of 2748.[2]

History[edit]

Colonel Mitrovich took command of the Fourth Davion Guards after the maiming and subsequent reassignment of Colonel Mitchel Stopec in 2748. While this would normally have been a great triumph for Mitrovich, the pressures of succeeding one of the Federated Suns most beloved and talented military commanders quickly began to wear on him. With no room to improve a unit that was already the pride of the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns and the victors of wargames against the Star League Defense Force's best units, Mitrovich quickly stagnated. Despite near constant combat with the Draconis Combine, Mitrovich's spirit of ennui permeated the ranks and the Fourth's constant training regimen became notably less constant.[1]

The outbreak of the First Succession War and the imperilment of the Federated Suns as a nation reinvigorated the spirits of both Mitrovich and the Fourth Guards. Mitrovich abandoned his defeatist attitude and committed himself to becoming a hard-charging commander who lead his troops from the front, creating a unit that would gladly lay down their lives at his order.[1] Unfortunately for the Fourth Guards, when the unit was assigned to raid the world of Tyrfing in 2788 they were not warned about the profligate use of WMDs during prior battles on the planet. Most of the unit's vital infantry and vehicle troops died due to radiation sickness and chemical poisoning soon after arriving on-planet, forcing Mitrovich's Guards to fight in an unusual combat environment without the benefit of their normal tactics.[2]
