Joshua Snord was a member of the famous Snord family.

History[edit]

Joshua inherited command of Snord's Irregulars at the age of twenty-three, in 3140, after the retirement of his father, Alexander Snord. Totally opposite to his progenitor, a cautious, risk-averse man, poorly suited for the mercenary life, Joshua was a throwback to the bold, swashbuckling Snords which founded the Irregulars, without leaning on their name. Rather than merely caretaking the group's past glories, Joshua aggresively pursued new opportunities to build upon them. After taking command, Joshua launched a draconian testing program which cut many underperforming members, while recruiting new MechWarriors possessing family history with the past incarnations of the Irregulars. Joshua proved the wisdom and effectiveness of his tactics during the reforged group's' trial by fire on Jaipur, in 3145, under Federated Suns employment. Two years later, he led the group in an all-or-nothing raid on Clinton, the Irregulars original home base, recovering a trove of priceless relicts from the Snord Museum. Selling them allowed him to finance the group's growing to a reinforced battalion. A master of public relations, Joshua never misses opportunity to make hay from the Irregulars' exploits, making sure the tales of boldness, daring and risk-taking exploits are know by everybody.[2]

In 3150, when the Irregulars were protecting a dig site on the planet Butte Hold, on the Periphery's state of the Republic of the Barrens, a group of Clan Hell's Horses contacted them. Joshua provocated them, and the Horses attacked the site... but the Irregulars managed to hold them long enough to evacuate safely.[3]
