Larry Schuester was an instructor for the Coventry CPM.[1]
History[edit]
Schuester was on detached duty from the Twenty-fourth Lyran Guards to Coventry in order to assist in refit and training of the Province Militia. He arrived on Coventry around mid-January 3068. While he recognized the Militia had potential he had doubts they'd actually be able to deliver, a fact he stated in several HPGs back home to his family. That all changed in March when the Word of Blake struck the planet in the opening moves of the Jihad. The intitial engagements saw Schuester shot out of two heavier ’Mechs, forcing him to pilot a recovered COM-7S Commando. The Blakists threw a lot at the Militia, from orbital bombardments to orbital ’Mech insertions but each time the Militia surprised Schuester by regrouping and maintaining fire discipline. Adopting the name 'Schuester's Sunday Soldiers" from a derogatory remark one of Schuester's contemporaries had made regarding the Militia, the group formed a resistance group. They were last seen in late 3071 staging a raid on a POW camp near the ruins of Port Lawrence.[1][2]
BattleMech[edit]
Schuester was most noted for piloting a COM-7S Commando nicknamed "Gloria," after his wife.[1][2]
Quotes[edit]
“ | What did that ass Walker call the CPM? Sunday soldiers? Well,
it’s been a month of Sundays ever since the hostiles hit.[2] |
