Leftenant Lavel Dering was a MechWarrior, who served in the Federated Suns' Thirty-third Avalon Hussars, as of 2841.[1]

Dering was a member of the Thirty-third Avalon Hussars, when they conquered Northwind in 2481 during the Second Succession War together with the Davion Assault Guards, destroying the Third Kearny Highlanders and Stuart's Highlanders Regiments of the Northwind Highlanders. During this campaign, Dering served in the Regimental Command Lance.[1]

Dering was known to have piloted a HBK-4P Hunchback BattleMech.[1]
