Force Commander Melissa Berret was a MechWarrior with the Twenty-fifth Marik Militia during the War of 3039.[1][2]

Berret was with the Twenty-fifth Marik Militia on Marcus during the War of 3039, when they suffered grievous casualties at the hands of the Third Crucis Lancers. The Marik Militia's only success came thanks to the then Captain Berret, when her lance conducted a diversionary raid which drew of several company's of enemy 'Mechs, destroying supply depots behind enemy lines.
When the 25th's DropShips finally arrived to allow for their retreat, Berret made it back to the landing zone, dragging a Wolfhound with a breached cockpit behind her. After this action she was promoted to Force Commander, to fill one of the gaps in her unit created by the heavy casualties.[1][2]
BattleMech[edit]
Berret was known to pilot a Wolfhound BattleMech, nicknamed "Small Favors", which she salvaged from Third Crucis Lancers on Marcus. This 'Mech, which was reputed to be the sole Wolfhound in service outside of Federated Commonwealth affiliated units until the Clan Invasion, replaced a different 'Mech of another model which she had piloted up to that time.[1][2]
