Description[edit]
Developed by the Federated Suns in 3149 from the original JR7-31 Rattlesnake yet ten tons heavier and built with cutting-edge Clan-spec components thanks to Clan Sea Fox, the Rattlesnake II is a heavily armed and armored reconnaissance, ambush and raiding 'Mech.
Weapons and Equipment[edit]
The Rattlesnake II's main armament is a suite of Clan ER lasers — two medium, one small — backed up by four regular medium laser. 14 Clan-spec double heat sinks keep its heat in check. A MASC systems allows for bursts of extra speed on an already fast design with a jump capacity of 210 meters. It also features a Guardian ECM Suite.[1]
Stated quirks for the Rattlesnake II are "Rugged (2)" and "No/Minimal Arms".[1]
Variants[edit]
- RSN-2 Rattlesnake II
- Following up on design ideas that for one reason or another could not be incorporated into the original RSN-1, the RSN-2 features Stealth Armor at the cost of some armor and downgrading the loadout to altogether six regular medium lasers and a standard small laser. BV (2.0) = 1,480[2]
