The Requirement was an Avenger-class DropShip of the Free Worlds League, one of a squadron of assault DropShips to be newly stationed at Nestor in late 3067 as a deterrent against Lyran aggression from Gienah, only one jump away. Its outer appearance was described as white and purple, with the Marik Eagle emblazoned in gold and silver.
On 22 October 3067 it jumped out from the Nestor system with the JumpShip Starchaser with a contingent of cadets aboard who were supposed to go on a tour to visit several WarShips. However, the Requirement was hijacked to the planetoid Phobos in Lyran space near Gienah by Lyran mercenaries, the Bloody Stoats. The cadets confronted the hijackers, and ultimately the Requirement crashlanded on Phobos on 24 October. The crashlanding effectively destroyed the ship.[1]
At the time, the Requirement had been considered a newly built vessel (though it is unclear where or when exactly it had been built).
