History[edit]
Until the Battle of Luthien, Samson had been on the rise in Clan Smoke Jaguar. He earned his bloodname at age twenty-six, and he had reached the rank of Star Captain. At Luthien, he was captured by Wolf's Dragoons and was made a bondsman, and by 3057 he was a lieutenant in the mercenary company.[1]
Samson fought on Coventry in April 3058 as part of the third lance of the Baker Company in the Dragoons' Delta Regiment, engaging Clan Jade Falcon forces.[1]
During the Word of Blake Jihad, then-Major Furey led a battalion resisting the occupation of Outreach, dying during the extraction of his unit by a relief force comprised of Dragoon and Clan Wolf-in-Exile personnel in March 3068.[2]
BattleMechs[edit]
By 3058, for the Dragoons, Samson piloted a Black Hawk, custom-modified from the Alpha configuration. Anti-missile systems were replaced with heat sinks, and instead of a medium pulse laser, the 'Mech used two extended range medium lasers.[1] He continued to pilot a Black Hawk until his last engagement on Outreach in 3068.[2]
