Terraforming is the process by which a planet not suitable for habitation without protective equipment is made suitable for human life. Mars, in the Terra system, was humanity's first terraforming project.

During the 3057 Refusal War, Clan Jade Falcon attempted to terraform Karetah, Morges' large moon, said to be rich in resources. However, Clan Wolf successfully sabotaged the main terraformer unit on the Batista Flats.
