ProfessionArcheologist[1]

Thel was, as of the early 3130s, an archeologist working for Ozawa's House DeVries.[1]

History[edit]

Thel was born on the final day of the FedCom Civil War. Her mother named her for eighteenth-century poet William Blake's Book of Thel.[1]

By the early 3130s, Thel had no remaining family members. She enjoyed ancient Terran poetry, often reading from a worn copy of the Norton Anthology of English Literature at home.[1]

During the early 3130s, Izzel Devries, a member of Ozawa's ruling House DeVries, backed an effort to find, recover, and restore salvageable military equipment across the planet. He employed Thel as his chief archeologist. On at least two occasions, she found damaged BattleMechs with working fusion engines.[1]

At age 65, while on a dig, Thel was attacked by a gang of neo-Blakist scavengers. During the fight, accidental detonations knocked her underground alongside one of the scavengers, a young teen nicknamed Tom Rum. Trapped below the surface, Thel bandaged Tom Rum's broken leg and helped him escape the tunnels, discovering a mostly-intact Grasshopper along the way. Her words and deeds persuaded the young scavenger to abandon the neo-Blakist gang and allow Thel to report her find to Izzel.[1]

Physical Description[edit]

Thel was a relatively small Asian woman. At age 65, she was fit and still somewhat youthful-looking, appearing a decade or two younger than her real age. Her hair was black, with no gray at the time.[1]
