The Thirteenth Arcturan Guards was founded after the initial founding of the Arcturan Guards brigade, and in common with the later-founded regiments, didn't bear a name based upon a Muse from mythology.[1]
Star League Era[edit]
Like the other regiments of the Arcturan Guard, the Thirteenth struggled with boredom and ennui during the closing years of the Star League era; the Star League Defense Force acted as an effective deterrent in the main, making large-scale military deployments for the Thirteenth a rarity, and leaving the regiment to occupy itself with training exercises and garrison duty.[1]
The Thirteenth took their unit logo from the Zeus Burger restaurant chain, and the chain nearly brought a lawsuit against the Lyran Commonwealth Armed Forces as a consequence. In the end, Zeus Burger decided to embrace the publicity that the Thirteenth brought when using the smiling face of Zeus from the chain as their logo, and agreed to cross-promote with the regiment. Zeus Burger added the "Arcturan Shake" – advertised as being a "liquefied cinnamon roll" – to their menu, where it remained a fixture at least as late as 2765.[1]
