Colonel William Langston was a former Free Worlds League Liaison Officer and mercenary in the early 31st century.[2][3]

History[edit]

In the year 3000, then Captain William Langston was assigned as a Liaison Officer from the FWLM to the then mercenary unit Drake's Dragons on the world of Goth Khakar. William would later discover that the unit was involved with illegal activities. Upon this discovery, the Dragons would attempt to kill Langston and then ransack the capital which killed hundreds of civilians and militia before escaping off world and becoming Pirates.[3]

In response, the Free World League would hire the Morrison's Madmen mercenary unit to go hunt down the Drake's Dragons forces. William Langston would resign his commission and join the Madmen on their hunt. Langston and the Madmen were able to find and kill several main members of the Drake's Dragons before the remnants fled into the Periphery.[3]

In 3007, Major Kevin Morrison, commander of Morrison's Madmen, was severely injured in a combat drop.[3]. As his daughter, Rita Morrison was too inexperienced to assume command of the Madmen at the time, command was passed to William Langston, who renamed the unit to Langston's Lancers[4], with Kevin's blessing.[3]

In March 3011, now Colonel William Langston was still in command of the Langston's Lancers and was stationed on the world of Payvand. There he would lead his forces against a newly rebuilt Drake's Dragons force under the command of Aeneas 'Ripper' Papaspaneas while trying to protect a gold shipment from the town of Lowson.[2][1]

BattleMechs[edit]
