Michael O'Leary was the owner of the BattleMech manufacturing company Mountain Wolf BattleMechs.[1]

History

Michael O'Leary grown hearing talk about his family's anterior wealth, and dedicated his life to restore it... but without much success: by then, Mountain Wolf BattleMechs was little more than an empty shell, living to their past reputation. Their family's only known real possession was the Leopard-class DropShip Ceridwen, and three 'Mechs: a Sling and two Night Hawks inside it... the last one of their class once produced by his company.[1]

Michael, in an unknown date about 2980, had married and had a son, Brandon. His wife died sometime prior to 2990, leaving him to raise his little son. The 16 August 2990, he was on Hesperus II, with the Ceridwen, to seal a deal.[1]

That day, Michael was so busy making calls than barely talked to his little son. After the DRopShip took off, he found Brandon playing with 'Mech toys and he vented his frustrations on him, laughing viciously of his fantasies, making him cry.[1]

The 4 June 2997, Michael and his people were on Alpheratz IV, capital of the Outworlds Alliance, making a demostration of one of his Night Hawks capabilities. He intented to impress the Alliance's president, Ronaine Avellar. The 'Mech was piloted by his son Brandon, and made a good show... but Michael was unable to impress the president, or obtain her financial aid to reopen Alpheratz's old Mountain Wolf factory. After the test ended, once again he vented his frustrations on his son, despite his good performance, blaming him for the failure. Brandon replied him, defiantly, telling him how unreal were Michael's projects. His father hit him, puting an end to the discussion.[1]

The 27 December 2999, Michael was on a party on Vendrell, the O'Leary's former home, along with his son. Once again,. Michael tried to impress some Lyran military officers to obtain financiation for his projects, but once again, he failed.[1]

By 8 January 3010, Michael had already died, without making true his plans to resurrect Mountain Wolf BattleMechs, leaving Brandon as his successor. Sometime before, he had rejected a project of two of his employees, a new design, the Merlin (BattleMech), saying he would never build nothing which wasn't a night Hawk or Sling. Ironically, this project, launched by Brandon, would allow him to obtain, in a few years, all what Michael only dreamed to realize.[1]
