History

Star League Era

The Tenth Tikonov Lancers was one of five regiments of Tikonov Lancers to be founded or reactivated in the years between the Periphery Uprising and the First Succession War.[1][2] The Tenth was one of three regiments within the Lancers to be created by recruiting former Star League Defense Force personnel or units - in the case of the Tenth, the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces were able to recruit the Eighty-fourth Light Horse Regiment,[3] an independent regiment formerly assigned to XXIII Corps within Fifteenth Army,[4] in 2784 and redesignated them the Tenth Tikonov Lancers.[3]

First Succession War

In late 2787 the Tenth invaded and conquered Ronel, a former Terran Hegemony system that had been claimed by the Federated Suns. The Armed Forces of the Federated Suns defenders had been anticipating an attack by troops from the Draconis Combine, and when the Tenth invaded (with support from the Fifteenth Liao Lancers) the AFFS troops found themselves both outnumbered and unprepared for the hit, run and harass tactics used by the Lancers. Ronel had been conquered by November 2787.[5]
