Overview

The 171st BattleMech Division was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army.

History

In 2764, the unit was assigned, as a part of the LV Corps, Fifth Army, to District 1 of the Capellan Confederation Military Region and then transferred to District 3 by 2765, to take part in the Periphery Uprising.[1]The 171st was destroyed during the Hegemony Campaign.[1]

Tactics

The Division favors firepower over everything else. Each battalion of a heavy assault regiment also includes fourth company of artillery, [3] and these are augmented by additional Battalions at Bridage level.[2]

As an SLDF BattleMech Division the 171st would have been composed with two Brigades of 'Mech regiments and one brigade of Mechanized Infantry regiments.[4]
