History[edit]
The First Buena Guards actually predate the Commonwealth Guards brigade by several years. They were formed shortly after Buena replaced Alarion was destroyed in 3082.[1] They were stationed on Buena in 3085.[2]
They saw heavy action against Clan Wolf, fighting on Bella I and Dixie. They then withdrew to Tharkad and arrived just before the Wolves did. They sustained moderate losses at the Battle of Nagelring, but by 3145 they had recovered from most of those losses thanks to new recruits and salvage from Tharkad. They were stationed on Buena in 3145.[3]
In 3146 the Buena Collective formed, and the First Buena Guards became a part of its military. In July a battalion of the First Buena Guards landed on Loburg and forced the planetary militia to give up its arms. This secured industrial plants for the Buena Guards.[4]
The First Buena Guards were renamed the First Collective Guards in 3147. At the time a battalion sized detachment was stationed on Valloire. The Lyran Irregulars, 2nd Buena Guards, and Carlisle Buena Province Militia landed on the world and eventually forced the Collective Guards off-world.[5]
In 3148 the First Collective Guards were recalled to Buena to strengthen the defenses of the Buena Collective's capital world. The 1st Buena Jaegers and 1st Buena Volunteers assaulted the world, and struck the capital city, Ciudad del Mar.
