The Second Milton Protectorate Militia Division is one of the many militias raised by Word of Blake to defend the Word of Blake Protectorate. The unit was deployed in Milton. As of 3075, there were two units raised from this planet, the 1st and the 2nd.[1]

History[edit]

Following the invasion of the Free Worlds League by the Skye and Bolan Provinces of the Lyran Alliance in what was termed Operation ÜBERSCHATTEN, Marshall Jeremy Brett took command of the local FWLM and launched a counteroffensive, under the name Operation BROKEN FIST. BROKEN FIST went beyond simply attempting to recapture worlds that the Lyrans had seized, as it struck into Lyran space at numerous worlds. Milton was one of the worlds hit and was captured by the League on the 1st of September, 3068.[2] The planet was subsequently incorporated into the Word of Blake Protectorate.[3]

When the 1st was sent to counterattack Clan Ghost Bear forces on Dieron along other Word of Blake Protectorate Divisions and Word of Blake Divisions, the 2nd was left to defend Milton.

Troops fighting on the Lyran front of Operation SCOUR liberated Milton in January 3078 after besting the 2nd Milton Protectorate Militia and the infantry elements of the 1st Milton Protectorate Militia Division.[3]

Protectorate Militia Divisions were equipped with enough DropShip capacity for transportation, but not JumpShips.[4]

Rules[edit]

As long as a Protectorate Militia force is fighting on its homeworld and is acting as the scenario's Defender, the Protectorate Militia force receives the Force the Initiative and Off-Map Movement special abilities. If deployed as the Attacker in a scenario, the Protectorate Militia force loses its Force the Initiative ability, but retains its Off-Map Movement capability.

If deployed on a world other than its homeworld (such as an Epsilon Eridani force being deployed on Genoa), the Protectorate Militia force not only loses all of its special abilities, but also suffers a –2 Initiative modifier.

Although Blakist-based, Protectorate Militia forces may use standard Inner Sphere force arrangements (Lances, Companies, and Battalions) rather than Word of Blake force arrangements.[5]
