History
When the Bad Dream mercenary unit collapsed due to insolvency in 3080, it sold its remaining BattleMechs to the Rim Commonality in order to pay off its existing debts. While the Rim Commonality initially planned to stockpile these machines for emergency use, it was eventually decided to use them to create a new battalion of the Rim Commonality Guards when the Commonality realized it needed to create its own defense force. Command of the new Second Rim Commonality Guards was given to former Chaos Irregulars co-commander Ariel Peregrine-Simson, who happily accepted the proffered job.[1]
Composed of new recruits, former Bad Dream soldiers, and an assortment of other mercenaries, the Second Rim Commonality Guard struggled to achieve the same kind of coordination its sister regiment was known for. Albay Peregrine-Simson decided to instead focus the unit's efforts on basic discipline and teamwork under fire.[1]
