However, their reinforcements were delayed; the mercenaries were pounced upon by Warrior House Ijori. Forced to surrender, they had to turn over their 'Mechs to the victorious Warrior House.[1] The whole episode was said to be exemplary for a decline of Davion military prowess at the time, owing to Michael Hasek-Davion's machinations that encouraged corrupution in the Davion administrative ranks, in order to divert funds to nobles from whom he was seeking favors.[1]
