In 3027 prior to the Dragoon's campaign on Udibi to capture supplies from the Federated Suns, Masnyk was considered to be a young but thoroughly competent MechWarrior, whose devil-may-care attitude led him to take risks, which won the admiration of many older pilots.[2]
He participated in the fighting on Udibi against McKinnon's Company, and after the Battle of Misery when Woomack's Company became Gamma Regiment's Third Provisional Company, he went on to fight in the Fifth Battle of Harrow's Sun where he was killed.[1]
