Despite lacking any conclusive proof, he considered the explosion a terrorist attack of the followers of Victor Steiner-Davion, and strongly suggested Blucher to arrest any suspect, specially the retired war hero Leutnant Colonel Archer Christifori, but Blucher strongly refused to do so.[3]

The 9 November, after Blucher ordered him to bring Andrea Christifori to talk with him, he believed she was holding a weapon, panicked and killed her. His attempts to force his soldiers to support his version failed, and Blucher ordered him arrested and court-martialed.
