The SLS Nashville was a WarShip serving with the Star League Defense Force Seventeenth Fleet at the height of the Star League era. During the mid-twenty-eighth century the SLS Nashville was involved in a battle with an unmarked WarShip attempting to cross the border between the Capellan Confederation and Free Worlds League. The Nashville took enough damage during the battle to require sixteen months of repair work in a dry dock before being declared operational again.[1]
The battle was significant during an era of illegal raids between the Great Houses masked as bandit activity because it was one of two document incidents to have occurred by 2765 where WarShips from the Free Worlds League Navy were in the system but stood idly by during the battle. The SLDF Intelligence Command believed that the FWLN vessels were acting in accordance with the wishes of Captain-General Kenyon Marik in doing so; Marik wished to embarrass SLDF units at every opportunity, one of a number of acts of retaliation for the SLDF refusing to involve itself in the destructive Marik Civil War fought a couple of decades before.[1]
