History

Born into a Jewish cowboy family on one of the three Southwest Trinity worlds, Rebel "Reb" Perez was a MechWarrior who served in the Seventeenth Recon Regiment. Reb was a tall, lean man, with taffy-coloured hair and beard, and possessed a deep, gravelly voice.[1] By 3056, Reb was piloting an AWS-9M Awesome[2] in Adelente company, and was close friends with two of his contemporaries, Lieutenant Junior Grade Billy "Cowboy" Payson and Lieutenant Senior Grade Buck "Sawbuck" Evans.[3]

Reb was killed in action on Hachiman on the 2nd of November 3056. The Seventeenth Recon were battling the Ninth Ghost regiment as a result of orders from the Internal Security Force, who believed that the Seventeenth's client, Chandrasekhar Kurita, was betraying the Draconis Combine to the Clans. As the other members of his company were withdrawing during close combat in the streets of Masamori, the capitol city, Perez fought a dogged rearguard action, refusing to retreat while covering his companions. Reb's battle ended when his Awesome exploded under the weight of the enemy fire.[4]
