History[edit]
Born on one of the three Southwest Trinity worlds, Buck "Sawbuck" Evans was a MechWarrior who served in the Seventeenth Recon Regiment. Evans was a tall, lean man with close-shaved blond hair, except for a long ponytail.[1] His long service to the Caballeros saw him covered in scars, with a rough-cut and ugly face "like forty kliks of bad road" in his own words.[3]
As of 3049, Evans was a staff sergeant who served in the Caballeros as a Jenner pilot and the pillar of stability in a shakedown lance under a young lieutenant Gavilán Camacho, consisting of trouble cases such as William "Cowboy" Payson and Cassiopeia Suthorn.[4] By 3056, Evans was promoted to Lieutenant, Senior Grade and piloting an Orion named Buck's Bronc[2] and was close friends with two of his contemporaries, the now-Lieutenant Junior Grade "Cowboy" Payson and Lieutenant Rebel "Reb" Perez.[5]
Evans would be present for and survive the Black Dragons' attempt on Theodore Kurita's life, killing many rogue DEST infiltrators by liberally applying LB-X Autocannon rounds against the traitorous special forces infantry.[6]
BattleMechs[edit]
Evans originally piloted an ancient, worn-down JR7-D Jenner named Old Paint during his days as a staff sergeant.[4] Sometime after his promotion, he received his ON1-M Orion named Buck's Bronc which he would pilot for the rest of his career.[2]
