Biography

Terry Ford, a MechWarrior serving with the 9th Illician Lancers, was known as "the luckiest MechWarrior of the Inner Sphere" as of 3025 for having survived, often without as much as a scratch, desastrous combat situations with his 'Mech where others would have been killed. Ford maintained a superstitious attitude, surrounded himself with lots of lucky charms and trinkets, and insisted that it would cost him his luck if he allowed somebody else to do maintenance on his BattleMech, the lucky "Number Seven".[1]

"Number Seven" was a modified CGR-1A1 Charger. Its small lasers had been replaced with medium lasers.[1]

Ford's luck ran out when the Illician Lancers were deployed in the Terran Corridor for a short time following the Fourth Succession War, where they came unter attack from Sorenson's Sabres in a retaliatory strike. Ford was killed and his heavily damaged 'Mech was taken as salvage. It was subsequently re-built from the ground up into a CGR-1A9 variant (ID number: CGR1A0ALSX9), but suffered from system glitches henceforth because of the massive damage it had incurred.[2]
