Heavily favored by MechWarriors, Vita-Orange (sometimes known as Vita-sport) is a sports drink available across the Inner Sphere.[1]

As far back as the Mackie, the very first BattleMech, doctors recognized that the intense heat generated by these war-machines would leave MechWarriors especially susceptible to dehydration after long periods in the cockpit. To combat this the new warriors would drink Vita-Orange sports drink to replenish their fluids, which would continued to be used by MechWarriors even by the era of the FedCom Civil War,[1] [2] [3] complete with advertising in the Solaris Games.[4]

Despite its vital nature for MechWarriors, Vita-Orange was often considered a necessary evil with many often complaining of its taste being similar to diluted cough medicine with a sicky, stale aftertaste.[5] The packaging states that the ingredients include real orange.[6]
