Major General Ciprian Grigore was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's 272nd BattleMech Division from at least 2763 to 2764.[1]
History[edit]
Grigore was immensely proud of his Divisions color-guard troop of rare Lipizzaner horse, which at the time included the only recognized foundation line of that breed, off the worlds of Vipaava and Terra. The animals were however killed during a raid on Piriapolis by a bandit Regiment in February 2763, as a result of a fire in their stables and breeding grounds, which Grigore believed was deliberately lit to cover the bandits retreat.
Sharing the cold fury of his unit at this outrage, and unofficially sanctioned by his CO General Brendon Janssen, Grigore launched a continuous series of raids in an attempt to track down and destroy the culprits. These operations stretched the supplies available to the 272nd via ordinary means, but they were assisted by Grigore's former classmate and 268th BattleMech Division commander Major General Serendipity Tomsik, who allowed her own units supplies to be surreptitiously diverted to them.
Tomsik was willing to provide this support, as the 268th was scheduled to be transferred to 1st Army nearer the center of the Terran Hegemony's industrial might in February 2765, at which time it was expected to be able to make good its deficiencies.[1]
