Dimitri Borodin was, as of 3133, a master sergeant in the Republic Armed Forces.
History[edit]
By April 3133, Borodin was company sergeant for Alpha Company of the First Cossack Lancers, an elite militia unit under the control of the governor of Mirach.[2] He was a gossip and a rumormonger, and proud of it.[1]
On 16 April, as Minister of Information Elora Rimonova agitated against the government in close association with Legate Calvilena Tortorelli, Governor Sergio Ortega placed the First Cossack Lancers under the legate's command, merging them into the legate's Mirach Home Guard.[3] Rumors and hints of rebellion ran rampant, along with Elora-ordered attempts on the lives of Ortega family members and their associates. After a series of assassination attempts left planetary heir Dale Ortega dead and former First Cossack Lancers CO Manfred Leclerc on the run, Borodin organized a 2 May meeting between Leclerc and Austin Ortega at the Borzoi Tavern. It ended in disaster, the Borzoi aflame in another attempt on Austin's life.[4]
Elora and Calvilena launched a short-lived military coup on 3 May. It lasted less than ten days, finally collapsing on 12 May.[5] Borodin remained loyal to Governor Ortega and commanded several former Lancers soldiers in his defense.[6] As well, Borodin saved Leclerc's life, providing warning of missing explosives before the latter was to board a DropShip to one of Mirach's moons.[7]
Physical Appearance[edit]
Borodin was a stout man with dark eyes.[1]
