Major General Maria Gomes was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's LI Corps from at least 2764 to 2784.[1][2]
History[edit]
Early Career[edit]
As of 2764, Gomes and LI Corps were assigned to the Lyran Commonwealth and Terran Hegemony border, which has not seen any major combat for a significant amount of time. Gomes used 11th Army's Operation KOBALD wargames as one opportunity to try to maintain her Corps' readiness, but despite sometimes wishing for more real combat to maintain her units edge, enjoyed the escape from writing messages of condolence for fallen troops.
Already eligible for retirement from the SLDF at this time, Gomes had received job offers from group in the Skye region, but continued to favor drawing the larger paycheck her military career provided.[1]
Amaris Civil War[edit]
Gomes survived the Amaris Civil War and attended Commanding General Aleksandr Kerensky's announcement of Operation EXODUS to senior SLDF's officers on Terra as III Corps commander on 14 February 2784.[2]
