New Calvinism was a Christian denomination, based on New Capetown, which was known for its white-supremacist beliefs.[1][2]

History[edit]

Descended from the Afrikaner Calvinism of apartheid South Africa on pre-space flight Terra, members of this faith were the first to colonize New Capetown, and dominated its government until reforms in the 3030s spear-headed by Archon Katrina Steiner. This sect enforced apartheid policies, under which skin color defined social class before all other considerations, favoring those of European ancestry over all others.

The New Calvinist's beliefs were rejected by many other Christian churches within the Lyran Commonwealth however, and many of these lobbied through the 3020s for the Lyran state to eliminate the New Calvinist influence over New Capetown's government, cumulating in Katrina Steiner's actions. By the 3060s the sect had less political power, though its racism remained, despite some of that hatred being redirected against the Clans.[1][2]
