Legate Ramon Martinez was the Planetary Legate of Irian, for the Republic of the Sphere, from at least 3130 to 3136.[1][2][3]

History[edit]

Irian Technologies BattleMech Factory[edit]

In 3133, a Maskirovka team discovered a previously secret Irian Technologies BattleMech factory on Irian, making the world a target for nearly every breakaway faction within the Republic of the Sphere at the time. Following fighting between Bannson's Raiders, Republican Guards, Steel Wolves, Spirit Cats, Stormhammers, Swordsworn, Dragon's Fury, and various local forces, the Dragon's Fury ultimately emerged victorious and reached an understanding with Governor Frederik Syrmar's planetary government.[2]

Legate Martinez's actions during these conflicts included, after the Highlander Republican Guards defeated a Bannson's Raiders force, ordering the Republican Guards off-world in order to placate the jealousies of the two local planetary military forces, the Irian Republic Standing Guard and Irian Technologies Security. Martinez soon regretted this decision however, as within a week of it, further attackers from the Steel Wolves and Spirit Cats entered the Irian system.[2]

Following the Dragon's Fury victory, in 3134 Legate Martinez also agreed with Governor Syrmar and Irian Senator Sabine Hughes' plan to grant overall command of the planets defense to Fury commander Chu-sa Antonio Blatz, and hiring the Wolf Hunters mercenary unit to augment the worlds military.[2]

Senatorial Alliance[edit]

During 3136, the Senatorial Alliance attempted to woo Legate Martinez and Governor Frederik Syrmar to bring Irian into their control, attempting to bypass Senator Sabine Hughes and House Hughes. This was however unsuccessful, due to the loyalty of all parties on Irian to the Hughes families, and the Senatorial Alliance representatives were ejected from the world.[3]
