Tai-shu Takutaro Inada was a senior officer in the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery during the thirty-second century.[1]

History[edit]

Military District Aide[edit]

As of December 3145, the then Tai-sho Inada was the military aide to the commander of the Draconis Combine's New Samarkand Military District, Tai-shu Angmar Kyuzu.[1]

Warlord[edit]

By 3149 Inada was promoted to be the Warlord of the New Samarkand Military District, and was responsible for reorganizing DCMS units to respond to the Federated Suns counter-attack against the Combine known as Operation PERCEVAL.[2]

Later in 3150, Inada sided with his fellow Warlords Mineo Tadashige and Shichiroji Hayashida against Gunji-no-Kanrei Matsuhari Toranaga, in arguing the Combine should seek to recapture Robinson following its liberation by the Republic of the Sphere's Operation ERUPTIO. With much effort, Kanrei Toranaga thought he had managed to convince Inada and the other Warlords that Robinson was a larger problem, which could only be solved in the longer term.[3]

Robinson[edit]

Inada however decided to act on his own initiative, ordering the Sixteenth Galedon Regulars to Robinson, on ostensibly to conduct an intelligence gathering raid. The size of the force committed however indicated he intended to claim the world, which the Sixteenth's CO Tai-sa Nanami Kamata in fact attempted, when he found the Republic Armed Forces had left the March capital. This attempt however failed with heavy causalities, due to the efforts of the Armed Forces of the Federated Suns which had been in hiding until after the Sixteenth completed their initial landings.

The tattered remains of the Sixteenth which returned to Inada were also unable to provide much intelligence regarding the state of Robinson's defenses, as their rushed retreat resulted in the survivors giving various accounts, from their being only one green Davion Battalion to several veteran Regiments. Upset with Inada's insubordination and failure, Kanrei Toranaga sought Inada's dismissal from his post, but was overridden by Coordinator Yori Kurita.[4]

This action by the Coordinator made Inada one of her strongest supporters, and a key ally against Kanrei Toranaga's efforts to control the Yori.[5]
