Cold Hunter redirect[edit]

Good morning, I'm just curious if there's a reason why you created the redirect for the Cold Hunter WarShip. As far as I know, there's only one page on the wiki with that name, so it doesn't need a disambiguated title. But let me know if there is another and it just hasn't been added to the website yet. Thanks, Csdavis715 (talk) 20:48, 11 January 2024 (EST)

Several pages were deadlinked. Now they aren't. ArsenalOfAutocracy (talk) 21:55, 11 January 2024 (EST)
Got it. It's a solution for now, thanks. Csdavis715 (talk) 21:59, 11 January 2024 (EST)

Talk page[edit]

Hey ArsenalOfAutocracy,

I have restored the talk page because as strange as it sounds, "your talk page" is not strictly your talk page, it is a place for other users to communicate with you, as such in wiki circles it is considered extremely rude to remove it. Is there a reason you removed it?--Dmon (talk) 13:42, 19 January 2024 (EST)

Hey Arsenal,

I saw your Erin Marden-Smythe article yesterday and it was not of the standard we really desire on the wiki, I hoped you would come back to it, so thank you for doing more work on it. House Smythe falls into the same situation of not being up to our current standard. Mostly because it is missing all of the "infrastructure" that makes the wiki pages look and act like wiki pages. Just to give you a little help, we actually have a series of article "templates" that you can copy/paste to make building articles easier. Find them here.--Dmon (talk) 16:25, 3 February 2024 (EST)

This is the second incredibly condescending thing I've seen from you. If my pro bono contributions are not up to your standard you're free to edit it accordingly.ArsenalOfAutocracy (talk) 19:14, 3 February 2024 (EST)
I apologise, I can be a bit of an asshole without meaning to be. I did not intend to be condescending, I just have crap people skills. My intent was to offer assistance (via the link to the help pages), if you where struggling with what is required in our articles and how to make it happen. Everybody here works pro bono so the entire site is fueled by the desire to contribute to the wider community and make articles about how insanely deep BT lore runs, as such the Sarna team try to encourage editors to work towards the same format across similar types of article rather than us following along behind editors as much as we can because the wiki is simply so vast and nobody really wants to spend hobby time doing clean-up duty when there are interesting things to do deepdives into. Again, I apologise, please do not take my irreverent manner as personally directed as you.--Dmon (talk) 20:07, 3 February 2024 (EST)
Hi ArsenalOfAutocracy, first I want to say thank you for your contributions. I'm not sure if you're aware, but unlike say Wikipedia.org, no one on the Sarna staff is paid, yet over the years Sarna has become quite a respectable resource in the BT community, so much that even the paid CGL staff and authors use it as a resource. This puts the wiki in a position where we're required to maintain higher level of consistency in our work. If you had created the aforementioned two articles on Wikipedia, for sure they would have been immediately deleted (I can say from personal experience), and in the past Sarna has had to do that with pages created by other editors. As we are all volunteers here, and limited in number at that, there just aren't floating editors ready to jump in and fix up every article that isn't set up properly, and often times a poorly formatted/poorly written article might go unnoticed for years before getting addressed.
It's Dmon's role as senior admin to look over everyone's work to make sure we have the support we need to contribute positively to the wiki. Since you've done good work in the past, it seems to me like he gave you the benefit of the doubt and wanted to make sure you had the right templates, rather than outright delete your work which has the potential to come across as an attack on your work. I don't think what he said to you was meant to be condescending, and if you have ever exchanged messages with him on Discord you'd know he's one of the most patient guys Sarna has on its team. We're a community with established standards and we're asking you to always be mindful of them. If you have any questions we're here to help. Csdavis715 (talk) 02:25, 4 February 2024 (EST)

Hello ArsenalOfAutocracy,

I noticed that you've added an article for another new system to Sarna, which is always useful. However, because you haven't used the system template, the only way anyone browsing is going to find it is if they know the name to look for it. We have a template and infoboxes to use for system articles to help categorise system and astronomical features, and to keep all of the information in a consistent format - the help page on how to write a system article is here: Help:CreateSystemArticle. Could you update the article to use the template, please?

Thank you. BrokenMnemonic (talk) 08:19, 8 April 2024 (EDT)
